Medical School Preparation Programme

The Medical School Preparation Programme has been specially assembled to create a ‘one-stop-shop’ which helps students prepare for their medical school application in one place. There are many component parts needed for this type of application, including, academic grades, a shadowing experience, a portfolio, preparation for the multiple mini-interviews, the medical school entrance exam, and IELTS.

Work Experience

  • Dr. Tanat Chinbunchorn served as the technical lead and research physician at the Thai Red Cross AIDS Research Centre and the Institute of HIV Research and Innovation in Bangkok, Thailand. His research primarily focuses on implementation science through key populations-led health services (KPLHS) in HIV treatment and prevention, transgender health, scaling up HIV services, and their regionalization in the Asia-Pacific region.

  • Dr. Chinbunchorn also led the “Princess PrEP” project, Thailand’s first and largest PrEP program delivered by trained KP-lay providers. He also oversees the country’s first same-day initiation of antiretroviral service at the Thai Red Cross Anonymous Clinic and the differentiated service delivery for ART in provinces with a high HIV burden. He provides high-quality technical assistance in facilitating private-public partnership models for HIV services, contributing to Bangkok’s efforts as a fast-track city to end AIDS. He earned his medical degree with first-class honors from a joint program between the University of Nottingham, UK, and Srinakharinwirot University, Thailand.

  • Dr. Chinbunchorn holds a Master’s degree from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in the Global Health and Population program. He was awarded the prestigious Rose Service Learning Fellowship at Harvard and conducted research on the uptake of PrEP in the U.S. alongside faculty from The Fenway Institute and Harvard Medical School. He was also a semi-finalist at Harvard University’s Presidents Innovation Challenge, an annual competition for students and select alumni pursuing ventures that push boundaries in their fields, and received the Sastry Innovation Award in the process.

  • Dr. Chinbunchorn is currently pursuing graduate studies at the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs, majoring in International Development, on a full scholarship.
